Steve Harris & Geddy Lee Play-Along Recordings

I had been freelancing for Hal Leonard Publishing for many years, and one of my favorite aspects of the job was producing several of their play-along series. I would create the charts for the book and then record the music, which was a fantastic way to sharpen my engineering and mixing skills. Sometimes, all they needed was for me to play bass for a book, which was always a great experience.

In 2023, I had the exciting opportunity to play bass for a Rush compilation and an Iron Maiden bass book. Researching both of these legendary players and studying their unique styles was incredibly rewarding. My goal was to truly capture their essence and do justice to their playing for the play-along books. It was a challenging and fun project that deepened my appreciation for their craft.
