Strangelander – Sumatra

I had the privilege of mixing a live performance by my friend Steve Peplin’s band, Strangelander. It’s rare to have a live performance recorded with each track isolated, which gave me the opportunity to really dive into the mix and shape the sound the way I envisioned. What an incredible band!

Down in the Upstairs

I began writing with a close friend, Tom Ford, who sadly passed away recently. Together, we created several songs, and I’m now working to finish what we started. The last name we used for our music was Down in the Upstairs, and I plan to carry that forward in honor of our collaboration.

“Do-It-Yourself Ear Training”

During the COVID pandemic, I authored an ear training book—a challenging topic for me because, like anyone, I can always improve my own ear. In many ways, I wrote it as a practice manual and guide for myself.

Jaco Pastorius Omnibook

The Jaco Pastorius Omnibook is finally here! I finished in October of 2023. Transcribing it was no small feat. I meticulously gathered as much material as possible, carefully reviewing existing transcriptions along the way. Many of them turned out to be inaccurate, so I had to start from scratch in several cases. After months of dedicated work—transcribing and editing—it’s now complete.

Electronic Tracks

I composed an electronic album for BMG, originally intended to be more up-tempo. In the end, they categorized it as “electro-drama,” which I thought was a better description. You can check it out by visiting BMG Production Music and searching for my name.

Steve Harris & Geddy Lee Play-Along Recordings

In 2023, I had the exciting opportunity to play bass for a Rush compilation and an Iron Maiden bass book. Researching both of these legendary players and studying their unique styles was incredibly rewarding. My goal was to truly capture their essence and do justice to their playing for the play-along books.
